Canoes and Rice

School is officially over! It's time to enjoy summer and the good times that come along with it. Those of you who read my blog about the canoe trip, it was a load of fun. My group canoed 21 miles down the Buffalo River in Arkansas. The scenery was amazing. It rained the majority of the trip. That didn't shop us from having fun. We had canoe wars, went through rapids, and discovered new friendships. I had a blast. The last weekend before finals week, the college hosted a picnic at a local pond. I got tossed in. It was a fun time of my life when my friends threw me into the water. My cell phone got a little wet. Thank goodness for rice because it dried my phone before it became fried. A whole year of college went by and I enjoyed every minute of it. I won't forget the friends I made in college and look forward to another year.

A Lesson from Where the Wild Things Are

I just finished watching Where the Wild Things Are. The movie has a strong and valuable lesson. Hate can lead to very bad things. It can tear a family apart. Fighting will only make things worse. All of us can avoid hate by showing love for one and another. Love is a very good thing and we need to do more loving and less hating.

The Perfect System

The perfect home entertainment system ever created has to be my own. I believe it's the best because it delivers the best picture for the least amount of money. I used a Sanyo 18.5" television hooked up to a Magnavox Blue Ray DVD player. I connected the tv to a Aiwa speaker system. The entire setup fits nicely in a 4' x 8' space. It's cool and I love it.

NBC's Closing Ceremony Absolutely Terrible

I have never experienced a more awful coverage of the Winter Olympic than the closing ceremony. I saw more commercials than actual coverage. On top of that, NBC stopped covering the event so they could broadcast their dumb ass marriage tv show. This has to be without a doubt NBC's worst tv coverage in the history of broadcasting. I hope many Americans agree with me because this was absolutely disgraceful.

I feel complete

The beginning of the year I weighed in at 130 lbs. I was skinny like a pencil. Lots of people saw me as the little kid on campus. My friends are the best because they persuaded me to hit the weights. Now, I weigh 145 lbs and gained 15 pounds of pure lean muscle. I actually fell like I am beginning to grow up the way I imagined myself being . I love my life and I wouldn't trade anything for it. Life is amazing as a college student and I wish I could stay forever young. Life is very precious and I love every minute of it. Catch ya on the flips side. PEACE!

Winter Olympics

It's Friday night and the Winter Olympics are almost over. I don't want them to end. I've enjoyed the winter season so much I'll be sad when it's over. But, spring must come and summer will be here before you know it. I can't wait for summer. It's going to be one hell of a time. Let the Weekend begin!

The Kansas Jayhawks

I was thinking of my favorite team last night; which happen to be the Kansas Jayhawks. It came to me that many people wonder why the Jayhawk looks the way it does. The Jayhawk stands on two legs to resemble a person. The term Jayhawk comes from a group of abolitionists that called themselves jayhawkers. The mythical bird is a combination of a blue jay and a sparrow hawk. The Rock Chalk Jayhawk chant has many mythical origins to how it started. Some say it's a secret chemistry formula. Others say it was inspired by a professor on a train ride. Last, others say it used during WW1 as a way to scare the enemy.

3 bad things you can do in 30 minutes

Here is a list of three bad things you can do to your body in 30 minutes. I don't recommend you try this because it's not a good feeling after you do it. I know this from experience.

1. eat an entire bag of marshmallows while watching The Hangover.

2. In addition, drink a whole can of Root Beer.

3. eat a large serving of Cheetos.

When you've done all this you'll feel awful.

I Spy

Here's a fun game. Lets play a game of I Spy. Only this game you can't buy at a book store, you have to rent a movie instead. The I Spy game I want to play is called I Spy The Hangover. Here's how to play. First, rent the movie "The Hangover." Second, watch for the following items as the movie plays. The person with the most items spotted wins. Here is the list of items.

1. Strippers sign by a church
2. a pyramid
3. Space Needle
4. pair of boxing gloves
5. Eiffel Tower
6. bowling ball in the wall
7. Statue of Liberty
8. stabbed apple
pyramid made of cans

My Weekend as a Whole

Friday night was awesome. Our school went out bowling at 11:15 p.m. After that we went to a doughnut shop and ate doughnuts. After that, we went back to the dorms and watched Booondock Saints. It was about 5 a.m when I finally went to sleep.

Saturday was all about the #1 Kansas Jayhawks. They played against Nebraska at home and won the game by double digits. On Big Monday, they'll take on Texas at Texas. Go Hawks!

Sunday was the Saints and the Colts in Super Bowl 44. I was rooting for the Saints because New Orleans went through tough times recently. They were also the underdogs. I thought it was cool that the team that wasn't expected to win came out on top. Tomorrow is Monday which leads to going back to studying and hitting the books. Rock Chalk Jayhawk! Win! Win! Win!

Tomorrow is Friday!

Tomorrow is Friday! I can't believe the week is almost over. I wised by so fast it was like experiencing a time warp. Last night the Jayhawks barely escaped the Colorado Buffalos. The game went into over-time. That's the second game in a row the Jayhawks played in over-time against an opponent in the Big 12. Tonight was a good way to begin the weekend. Our basketball team (Hesston Larks) won their game. I went out to Aplebees with some friends and we all had a good time. It's now 12:24 in the morning it is time to hit the hay. Catch you on Friday night!

My Week so Far

My week has been great so far. Monday was the first day of February and now it's already Wednesday. I think it's amazing how time flies. I can't believe the 2010 Winter Olympics is coming up very soon. My favorite event is luge. I like it because the racers go so fast. I thought it would be cool to try that someday. Snow hit us in Hesston Kansas. most of it already melted away. I guess snow can't stay forever and spring has to come eventually. I do like the sun. Can't wait for summer.

It's the Weekend again!

Today is Saturday January 30th, 2010. I have a load to tell you sense I missed so many days. The last couple of days I've been playing "catch up" with some of my classes and I've been very busy. Yesterday as awesome! I didn't hit the hay until 4:00 a.m last morning because my friends and I partied all night long. We had a blast. First, we went to the movies and watched Legion. After that, we went out to eat at a restaurant. I ordered cheese fries, which were some of the best. After the meal, we went up to the third floor in the dormitories and watched Rat Race. Lots of inspiration at the end. Today the Kansas Jayhawkers won a big game in Manhattan Kansas. They are now ranked #1 in the nation. Today was good.

Don't let the bed bug bite.

Today wasn't bad. I finish class about 2:00 this afternoon, then I had the rest of the day off. I goofed off until it was time to eat. After dinner, I did a little goofing off some more. I didn't start homework until about 11:00 this evening. It's now 1:27 Tuesday morning when I am finally wrapping things up. I don't have class until 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. I get to sleep in for a long time time TTFN. Ta Ta For Now; as Tigger would would always say.

Last night was crazy. Today was awesome!

Last nigh, which was Sunday night, was really hectic. I stayed up until 3:00 in the morning preparing for a test I had in Bible Literature. This morning I was totally prepared to take the test. I had the notes memorized and everything. Only we didn't take the test in class. I was very disappointed that I spent all that time preparing for a test that we didn't take. So I took things into my own hands and dropped the class. Why do all this work if we don't do the things we expect to do in class? It just doesn't add up.

1:00 this afternoon, I had Psychology with one of my favorite professors. Today I learned that my personality color is orange. If my color is orange then this means I like to have a good time and try new things. I would agree that my color describes me very well. My other color was gold. Gold meant that I like to stay well organized. This is very true. Class in Psychology was a tone of fun and can't wait for the next one. Catch you on the flip side. Out!

Ice Skating

Tonight was so much fun. Our school went ice skating in Wichita Kansas. I hardly skated before my entire life. Tonight was different. I began skating like any other began; slow and wobbly. I made a few laps around the rink when I was on the verge of giving up. Then, I started to get the hang of it. Before it was time for us to leave I was trying to see how fast I could go. It's as if I was a natural ice skater. I even got a fine looking blonde to hold my hand. Tonight was amazing! On our way back to the dorms we listened to music that I heard for the first time. I instantly sat down to my computer and began buying songs on I- Tunes. Some of the artists included Lil Wayne and Owl City. Hope tomorrow is just as fun as today was.

Goodbye Good Friend

Yesterday I and a couple of classmates said goodbye to a friend that was leaving us. He came all the way form Oregon to attend Hesston College. We accepted him as one of our brothers and will miss hem very much. Last night me and a couple of buddies threw him a goodbye party. We stayed up until 4 in the morning doing what college students do best. Party! Party! Party! Ice skating is at 8. So I'll keep this one short. I'll be sure to report with another story tomorrow soon.

My Lucky Day

Today was a lucky day for me. The previous night I didn't leave much room to study for a weekly quiz for one of my classes. This morning the teacher announced that there wasn't a quiz this time. That was a major break! Later that same evening, a classmate came into my room and told me I had to study for a weekly quiz for another class I had. I didn't do that either. At 1:00 p.m today the professor said that we have until Monday of next week to complete it online. That's two lucky breaks in one day! Then, about 1:30 p.m this afternoon, a man approached me and told me I was hired to be his tutor for Introduction to Computers. Not only did I escape consequences for not being prepared for class, I also earned a little cash. I wish every day could be like this!

My First Blog

I am a student at Hesston College. It's a small school with no more than 400 students. It's currently the second week of the second semester. I still have no idea I want to do as a job. I have so many interests it's hard to just pick one as a major. I want to do it all! Some majors catch my interest more than others. Maybe I'll be a roller coaster engineer or maybe a movie producer. My birthday was the 13th of January. It was the last year being a teenager. Being 20 is awesome! It's 12:36 and I have a class at 9. Why do I keep doing this to myself? It's the college life I guess. Time for me to get some much needed sleep.
